Dhanbad, November 11: Following the deadly bomb blast in Delhi on Monday evening, security has been tightened across Jharkhand, including Dhanbad district.
Acting on directives from the Police Headquarters, a high alert has been issued in Dhanbad following which an intensive vehicle checking drive was launched across all police station areas.
Police teams have been deployed at key intersections, markets and sensitive locations to inspect every vehicle. Suspicious individuals are being questioned and their identity cards are being verified.

Special security arrangements have also been made at the Dhanbad railway station, bus stand and crowded public places such as malls and markets.
The Government Railway Police (GRP) and district police are jointly conducting strict checking of passengers entering and leaving Dhanbad. Meanwhile, additional forces have been placed at the bus stand to monitor movement of every passenger.
Moreover, vigilance has also been stepped up in the border areas connecting Dhanbad with West Bengal and nearby districts while hotels and lodges are being checked as part of the security operation.
Dhanbad Police has urged citizens to stay alert, avoid touching any unattended items and report suspicious activities immediately by calling 112.
Notably, a powerful explosion in an i-20 car near Gate No. 1 of Delhi’s Fort Metro Station at 6:52 PM on Monday killed at least 13 people and left 24 injured, prompting a nationwide security alert.
