Ranchi, September 10: Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Wednesday reiterated that developing Ranchi as a model city remains one of his government’s top priorities. He said the state is implementing a special action plan to make the capital cleaner, more beautiful and better equipped with modern public facilities.
“The all-round development of Ranchi requires active participation from both the government and the public. We are continuously adding new initiatives that will give the city a distinct identity in the future,” Soren emphasised while meeting a joint delegation of Durga Puja committees at his official residence.

The Chief Minister assured the visiting delegation that, like every year, the government would extend full cooperation to Puja organisers across Ranchi and nearby towns. He underlined that the district administration and Puja committees must work hand in hand to maintain peace and harmony during the festivities.
Members of the Mahanagar Durga Puja Committee, District Durga Puja Committee and Shri Mahavir Mandal apprised him of the preparations for Durgaotsav 2025. They informed that nearly 157 pandals, ranging from small local set-ups to large theme-based structures, will come up across the city and surrounding areas.
Expressing appreciation for the government’s continued support, the delegation pointed out that timely arrangements for electricity, water supply and sanitation had made festival management easier in previous years. They invited Soren and his family to visit the pandals and offered him an idol of Maa Durga, Chunari and Angvastra as a gesture of respect.
Deputy Commissioner Ranchi Manjunath Bhajantri, DIG-cum-Senior Superintendent of Police Chandan Kumar Sinha, Chairman of Mahanagar Durga Puja Committee Ajit Sahay, Chairman of District Durga Puja Committee Vicky Yadav, Chairman of Mahavir Mandal Jai Singh Yadav and several others were present during the meeting.
