Dhanbad Police busts bike theft gang, recover 5 stolen motorcycles

Dhanbad, August 22: Dhanbad police on Friday announced to have arrested three members of a bike-lifting gang and recovering five stolen motorcycles from different parts of the district.

As per City SP Witvik Srivastava, a police team led by Inspector Sumant Kumar raided Kalitand football ground under Tisra police station limits on Thursday evening following a tip-off. During the raid, three men were caught with two stolen bikes however, two of their accomplices managed to escape. He informed that Sindri SDPO Ashutosh Satyam was also a part of the operation.

He further said that acting on the basis of their interrogation, police later recovered three more stolen motorcycles.

The arrested have been identified as Karku Bhuyan (24) and Sonu Bhuyan (20) of Tisra, and Arvind Kumar of Baliapur. According to Dhanbad police, all three are history-sheeters with several cases registered against them in different police stations.

Dhanbad Police said that more raids are underway to catch their absconding associates.
