Ranchi, June 16: A 34-year-old contract worker, Sunil Kumar Singh, lost his life late Sunday night after being run over by a locomotive during inbound rail logistics operations at Track No. 5 of the West Marshalling Yard in Tata Steel’s logistics zone. The incident occurred around 1:35 a.m., and Singh was employed as a vendor staffer with M/s Rites Ltd.
According to initial reports, the mishap took place during a shunting operation involving 11 captive TGS wagons being pushed by locomotive number 145 to connect with four stationary box-type empty wagons.
