Ranchi, June 5: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren inaugurated the four-lane flyover cum road overbridge project built with the latest technology from Sirmatoli Chowk to Mecon roundabout via Rajendra Chowk on World Environment Day.
“This flyover is named after the late Kartik Oraon ji. This project is expected to provide great relief from traffic jams in the capital Ranchi,” said Soren.
Political analysts claim that Hemant Soren has once again played a master stroke killing two birds with one stone by announcing to name Siramtoli flyover after senior tribal leader Kartik Oraon. On one hand, this gave respect to tribal heritage, on the other hand, he also responded to the recent protest with political acumen.
On June 4, during the Jharkhand bandh, former minister Geetashree Oraon was arrested in protest against the construction of a ramp of this flyover. Now the same flyover has been named after her father Kartik Oraon.
The CM gave the message of environmental protection by planting saplings at the World Environment Day celebrations organized at Van Bhavan, Doranda in Ranchi. He also prayed for the all-round development, happiness, prosperity and peace of the state by offering prayers at Sirmatoli Sarna Sthal. The Chief Minister said that the government is committed to the systematic development of cities. Many schemes are on the ground and many will be implemented soon. Due to this flyover, the traffic system will be smooth, which will save both time and fuel.

Hemant Soren said that the government is implementing schemes keeping in mind the interests of every section, community and section of the state. Many initiatives are being taken for education and women empowerment, such as the Chief Minister Mainiya Samman Yojana. He said that it is not right to compare any other country or state with Jharkhand, but the good systems there will be adopted according to the needs of our state.
Hemant Soren described the attack on the environment as a big threat to human life and said that everyone will have to work together to save it.
He said that there is a deep connection between environment and life. Everyone should take the initiative to plant a tree so that there is a positive change in the environment. Making Jharkhand a green state is a priority.
The Chief Minister said that along with development, protecting the environment is also important. Development is impossible without an environment. Therefore, efforts will continue in the direction of balanced development.
Apart from the rules made by the government, the determination of every person will play an important role in environmental protection. He said that plastic is the biggest threat to the environment. Large-scale campaigns are being run to reduce the use of plastic. To save the environment, we have to adopt plastic-free alternatives.
