NIA chargesheet against 3 Maoists

Ranchi, May 31: The central investigating agency NIA has filed a chargesheet against three accused in a major case related to Maoist activities in Giridih district of Jharkhand.

The case came to light after the arrest of Krishna Hansda in January 2023. According to the information given by the NIA, the three accused were actively involved in Maoist activities, extortion and threats with weapons in the Parasnath area of Giridih. The people against whom the chargesheet has been filed include Krishna Hansda, Abhijeet Korah and Ramdayal Mahato.

The three accused are said to be active members of the banned Maoist organization CPI (Maoist). A supplementary chargesheet has been filed against them in the NIA special court in Ranchi. The NIA investigation has also revealed that these people used to work for the Maoists in Giridih and surrounding areas and extorted money from local people and businessmen.

Krishna Hansda has been charged under serious sections of the UAPA and Arms Act. At the same time, an FIR was registered against Abhijeet Korah under various sections of criminal conspiracy, extortion and UAPA. Ramdayal Mahato also has cases registered under UAPA, IPC and Criminal Law Amendment Act. The NIA investigation also found that these accused were carrying out Maoist activities by hiding in the Parasnath hill area of Giridh. These people were also involved in supplying weapons and advancing Maoist strategy.
