Ranchi, May 14: Some good news for farmers in a state lacking proper irrigation facilities and heavily reliant on monsoon.
If Met officials are to be believed the south west monsoon will enter state in the first week of June from Sahibganj. The monsoon is expected to be normal this year.
The monsoon as per Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) sources the monsoon will reach the coast of Kerala by May 27. It may take 10-12 days for the monsoon to reach Jharkhand from that period. For the past few years, the monsoon used to reach the coast of Kerala around June 1. This time it is expected to reach four days earlier.
If this happens, then after about 10 years, the monsoon will reach on time this year. The monsoon enters Jharkhand via Pakur and Sahibganj. In such a situation, after June 8-9, the effect of monsoon will be visible in other districts of the state as well.
According to Ranchi based Met officials this time it is expected to rain more than normal. In such a situation, people will get relief from the heat.
