Ramgarh, April 23: Film production is set to gain momentum in Jharkhand’s Ramgarh district with the upcoming shoot of three locally-produced projects, according to officials from the Ramgarh Film Association (RFA). The initiative marks a notable boost for the region’s emerging film industry and follows a meeting between RFA members and the district administration to discuss infrastructure support for cinema and arts.
The three projects include a suspense thriller web series titled Monica Dutta, a short drama Manjari, and a horror short film Intezaar. The web series, written and directed by Sanjay Banarasi, promises action and intrigue and will feature local artists including Vimal Sharma, Vinod Singh, Dharmendra Sharma, and Manish – all affiliated with the RFA.
Manjari, a short film directed and produced by Binod Kumar Singh, tells the story of a young woman named Manjari. The cast includes Singh himself along with Dharmendra Sharma. The film is still in the process of finalizing additional cast members.
The third project, Intezaar, is a Hindi horror short film that will be released on the YouTube platform under the Prajapati Pictures banner, aiming to reach a wider digital audience.
In a parallel development, RFA officials met with the Deputy Commissioner of Ramgarh on Tuesday to discuss the establishment of a theatre in the district. The officials proposed the selection of a site where a hall could be developed to host artistic and cinematic performances.
“Very soon there will be a hall for the theatre in Ramgarh,” the Deputy Commissioner assured, expressing the administration’s commitment to promoting cultural growth and providing a stage for local talent.
The film shoots are expected to begin in the coming weeks. These developments underline Ramgarh’s rising profile as a potential regional hub for filmmaking, supported by growing administrative interest in nurturing the creative industries.
