New Delhi, Mar 26: A special screening of Chhaava film starring Vicky Kaushal and based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, will take place in Parliament on March 27. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, several Union Ministers, and Members of Parliament are expected to attend.
The film, directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan, explores the legacy of the Maratha warrior king, known for his resistance against the Mughal Empire. Kaushal and the film’s creators are also expected to be present.
The screening highlights the government’s recognition of Sambhaji Maharaj’s historical and cultural significance. It will provide political leaders an opportunity to engage with the cinematic portrayal of his life and contributions.
Now in its fourth week, Chhaava continues to perform strongly at the box office. The film has surpassed the lifetime earnings of the Hindi version of Baahubali 2, making it the sixth highest-grossing Hindi film of all time.
The film is closing in on the collections of Pathaan (₹524.53 crore) and Gadar 2 (₹525.7 crore). With no major new releases in the near future, it remains to be seen how soon Chhaava reaches its next milestone.
Alongside Kaushal, the film features Rashmika Mandanna, Viineet Siingh, Akshaye Khanna, Diana Penty, Ashutosh Rana, and Divya Dutta. Released on February 14, it has received largely positive reviews from critics and audiences.
