New Delhi, Sep 27: The newly elected office-bearers of the Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FJCCI) participated in a Karam Milan ceremony held in the national capital on Sunday, highlighting Jharkhand’s tribal and folk traditions.
Chamber President Tulsi Patel, Vice-President Vikas Vijayvargiya, General Secretary Rohit Agrawal, Joint Secretaries Amit Sharma and Pooja Dhadha, and Treasurer Navjot Alang attended the event.
Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth felicitated and welcomed the newly elected Chamber office-bearers.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju, Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh, Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram and former Jharkhand Rajya Sabha MP Ajay Maroo were among the dignitaries present.
Patel described Karam as an integral part of Jharkhand’s social and cultural identity, saying the festival conveys a message of gratitude towards nature, social harmony and preservation of folk traditions.
“It is a matter of pride that such an event in the national capital provides a wider platform for Jharkhand’s rich cultural heritage,” she said.
Agrawal said Jharkhand’s identity was not limited to its mineral and industrial resources, but also encompassed its rich tribal and folk culture.
“The Karam festival symbolises the centuries-old relationship between nature and human life. Such events are an important means of connecting the younger generation with their roots, traditions and cultural heritage,” he said.
The Chamber office-bearers called for continued efforts to promote Jharkhand’s culture, art, traditions and heritage at the national level.
Traditional folk songs, dances and cultural performances showcased the vibrant Karam traditions of Jharkhand during the ceremony.
The Chamber said it remained committed to providing a wider platform for the state’s cultural and economic heritage and promoting Jharkhand’s identity across the country.
