Patna, Sep 23: The Bihar Cabinet on Wednesday approved an increase in the salaries and allowances of chairpersons, vice-chairpersons and other officials of various commissions, boards, corporations, councils and committees functioning under state government departments.
The decision was taken at a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary.
Under the revised provision, the monthly salary of officials receiving facilities at the level of a minister, minister of state and deputy minister has been increased from Rs 25,000 to Rs 65,000, marking a hike of Rs 40,000.
The daily allowance for the concerned officials has also been raised from Rs 1,000 to Rs 3,500.
The Cabinet also revised hospitality allowances across the three categories. For the minister category, the allowance has been increased from Rs 18,000 to Rs 30,000, while for the minister of state category, it has been raised from Rs 17,500 to Rs 29,500.
For the deputy minister category, the hospitality allowance has been increased from Rs 17,000 to Rs 29,000.
The revised salary and allowance structure will enhance the facilities available to officials heading or serving on various commissions, boards, corporations, councils and committees under the Bihar government.
