Ranchi, Sep 20: The Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries has urged the state authorities to make the Transport Nagar operational at the earliest and allow three-wheeler goods carriers to enter the city during no-entry hours for essential deliveries.

A Chamber delegation met Rajya Sabha MP Mahua Maji and discussed issues related to traffic management and the difficulties faced by traders and small businesses in the city. The representatives said the early operation of Transport Nagar would help shift goods vehicle movement away from major roads and ease traffic congestion in Ranchi.

The Chamber also sought a provision allowing three-wheeler goods vehicles to enter restricted areas during no-entry periods, particularly for transporting essential commodities. It said the move would help small traders who depend on such vehicles for regular supplies.

The delegation requested the MP to take up the issues with the concerned authorities. Maji assured the representatives that she would make necessary efforts on the matters raised during the meeting.

The delegation included Chamber vice-president Vikas Vijayvargiya, joint secretary Amit Sharma, Pooja Dhanda, Jharkhand Pragatisheel Union general secretary Vikram Singh, and representatives of the R.G.T.A. and other business organisations.

Chamber general secretary Rohit Agrawal issued the statement.
