Nagar Untari, Sept 18: A tragic incident was reported from Akchhor village under Dhobahi Gram Panchayat on Friday, where a youth died after drowning in a pond. The deceased has been identified as Arjun, who had reportedly come to his sister’s house from Nagar Untari.
According to villagers, the incident came to light when people noticed the youth drowning in the pond. They immediately informed the local MLA about the incident. Following the information, a rescue team was rushed to the spot to search for the youth.
The rescue team managed to bring Arjun out of the pond, but he was found unresponsive. Despite the rescue effort, he could not be saved.
An administrative team also reached the spot after being informed about the incident. Several villagers, including Banti, Pankaj, Deepak and Bholu, were present near the pond during the rescue operation.
The incident led to a gathering of villagers around the pond. Further details regarding the circumstances leading to the drowning and the official proceedings are awaited.
