Ranchi, September 3: Heavy rains across Jharkhand have caused rivers, dams and waterfalls to swell, with rising water levels reported at several locations in the state.
At Jonha Waterfall near Ranchi, the downpour has significantly increased the water flow, turning the popular tourist spot into a powerful cascade. Visuals showed large volumes of water rushing down the waterfall with considerable force amid continuing rains.
The waterfall was seen flowing at a much stronger intensity than usual as rainwater surged through the surrounding terrain.
The heavy rainfall has also led to increased water levels in rivers and reservoirs at various places across Jharkhand, raising concerns of localised flooding and waterlogging in vulnerable areas.
Authorities and local administration are closely monitoring the situation, particularly in areas near swollen rivers, dams and waterfalls. People have been advised to exercise caution and avoid venturing close to fast-flowing water bodies during the spell of heavy rain.
The latest spell of rainfall has brought a sharp rise in water discharge at several natural and man-made water bodies across the state, underscoring the intensity of the monsoon conditions prevailing over Jharkhand.
