New Delhi, Aug 30 : A social media post about the reported earnings of a Delhi-based astrologer has sparked a debate online over the commercial side of astrology and the growing demand for personalised consultations.
The discussion began after X user Neetu Khandelwal claimed that an astrologer charges ₹25,000 annually for three 30-minute consultations. According to her post, around 1,000 clients are already associated with the astrologer, with the number reportedly continuing to rise.
Based on the figures mentioned in the post, an annual fee of ₹25,000 from 1,000 clients would amount to ₹2.5 crore in gross revenue. However, the figure is based on the social media user’s claim and does not independently establish the astrologer’s actual earnings.
Khandelwal said she came to know about the service through a relative who had recently enrolled and was encouraging her to join as well. Her post questioned whether astrology could represent a lucrative business model when a practitioner has a large and recurring client base.
