Ranchi, Aug 27: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday conducted searches at five locations in Ranchi and Dhanbad in connection with an alleged bribery case involving personnel of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), officials said.
Three CISF officers were arrested during the operation in connection with an alleged bribe of Rs 48,400, according to the information available.
The searches were carried out simultaneously at premises located in the two Jharkhand cities as part of the agency’s investigation into the alleged illegal gratification and the circumstances surrounding the transaction.
The CBI is examining the evidence gathered during the searches to establish the sequence of events and determine the roles of the accused officers and any other persons who may be linked to the alleged transaction.
Investigators are also likely to examine whether the alleged payment was an isolated incident or part of a wider arrangement involving other individuals or transactions.
The arrests and searches mark a significant development in the probe, with further action expected based on the evidence collected by the agency.
