Ramgarh, August 24 : JLKM leader Devendranath Mahato on Monday launched the ‘Recruitment Justice Yatra’ from Nemra village in Ramgarh district, raising concerns over alleged irregularities in JPSC and JSSC recruitment examinations.
Nemra is the ancestral village of former Jharkhand Chief Minister and veteran JMM leader Shibu Soren. Before beginning the march from Lukaiyatand, Mahato paid floral tribute to Soren’s life-size statue and sought his blessings for the success of the campaign.
Allegations of Irregularities in Recruitment Exams
Speaking to the media, Mahato alleged that large-scale irregularities had taken place in recruitment examinations conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC).
He said the yatra aims to demand reforms in the recruitment system and greater transparency throughout the examination process. According to Mahato, lakhs of students have previously protested against alleged irregularities, prompting the state government to take up the issue and hold discussions with candidates.
Questions Raised Over Government’s Stand
Mahato also criticised the government’s handling of examinations conducted through TDPL. He said that although the government decided to cancel the examinations, it failed to present a strong case before the High Court.
He claimed that the situation has left candidates disappointed and feeling let down, and said the yatra would focus on improving the state’s recruitment system.
Yatra to Reach Different Districts
As part of the ‘Recruitment Justice Yatra’, Mahato plans to travel across different districts of Jharkhand and interact directly with young people.
The campaign will seek to highlight candidates’ concerns and press for transparency, fairness and timely appointments in government recruitment examinations. Mahato said the movement would be expanded through dialogue with students and job aspirants across the state.
Opposition from Some Villagers in Nemra
The launch also witnessed opposition from some residents of Nemra. A group of villagers reportedly arrived carrying traditional weapons in protest against the proposed yatra.
However, no major confrontation took place after Mahato arrived, and the march eventually began as planned.
The yatra is expected to bring renewed attention to the long-running concerns of job aspirants over recruitment examinations and the demand for a more transparent and reliable hiring process in Jharkhand.
