Ranchi, Aug 20: The Jharkhand government has sanctioned ₹73.31 lakh for infrastructure improvement and essential repair works at healthcare facilities in Ranchi and Garhwa districts during the financial year 2026-27.Of the total allocation, ₹9.68 lakh has been earmarked for Garhwa Sadar Hospital, while ₹63.63 lakh will be utilised for various health facilities in Ranchi district.
At Garhwa Sadar Hospital, the sanctioned amount will be used for construction of a boundary wall, installation of paver blocks and repair of tiles and paver blocks in the parking area. Renovation of the hospital’s store room will also be undertaken.The Civil Surgeon of Garhwa, Dr John Fitzgerald Kennedy, has been entrusted with responsibility for utilisation of the funds.In Ranchi, infrastructure works have been planned at Ayushman centres in Manatu, Oyana, Dubalia, Bagda and Kamre.
The works include construction of boundary walls and toilets, improvement of electricity facilities and deep-boring for water supply.The main buildings of the Ayushman centres at Oyana, Dubalia, Bagda and Kamre will also undergo repair and renovation.
At the Community Health Centre in Sonahatu, work will include repairs to the building and electrical system, besides construction of a septic tank.The government has directed the concerned authorities to execute all works in accordance with prescribed rules and procedures. Expenditure will be verified every three months by the Accountant General, Ranchi.
Officials have also been instructed to submit details of expenditure to the Health Department by the 10th of every month. The government said the concerned engineer would be held responsible in case of any improper or irregular payment.The infrastructure upgrade is aimed at strengthening basic facilities at government healthcare institutions and improving the overall environment for patients and healthcare workers.
