Ranchi, Aug 19: The Jharkhand government has decided to strengthen the examination and recruitment system of the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) amid complaints and investigations into alleged irregularities in their examinations.
According to a government notification issued on August 18, the state Cabinet has approved three key measures aimed at improving accountability and ensuring greater transparency in the recruitment process.The government will approach the Jharkhand High Court with a request to establish a Fast Track Court for hearing cases related to alleged irregularities and corruption in JPSC and JSSC.
The move is intended to facilitate quicker judicial proceedings in cases arising from complaints of malpractice and other irregularities in recruitment examinations.
The government has also decided to establish an internal monitoring cell in both JPSC and JSSC. The proposed mechanism is aimed at strengthening supervision of examination-related activities and improving institutional accountability.
As part of a longer-term reform initiative, the government will constitute a committee to conduct a comprehensive study of examination reforms in JPSC and JSSC.The committee will be headed by Amitabh Kaushal, and will include other officials as well as a member at the director-level from a reputed institution. The committee has been asked to submit its report to the state government within two months.
The decisions were taken in light of findings being brought before the government through CID/SIT investigations into complaints concerning irregularities in current and previous examinations conducted by JPSC and JSSC, the notification said.The latest measures come amid sustained protests by students and job aspirants in Jharkhand over alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations.
The government said the proposed steps are aimed at improving the examination system and strengthening mechanisms to ensure fair and transparent recruitment in the state.The notification was issued by the Department of Personnel, Administrative Reforms and Rajbhasha, Government of Jharkhand, on August 18, 2026.
