New Delhi, August 15: Delhi Tourism has introduced four new spiritual and heritage tourism circuits covering 21 destinations across the national capital, in an effort to encourage visitors to explore the city’s religious, cultural, historical and archaeological wealth beyond its traditional tourist attractions.

The four circuits were announced by Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta at the Spiritual & Heritage Tourism Conclave 2026, held on August 11 at Swaminarayan Akshardham Temple. The initiative groups multiple destinations into defined routes, allowing tourists to explore several attractions through theme-based itineraries. The Soul of Delhi circuit features Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, Sacred Heart Cathedral, Agrasen Ki Baoli, Lotus Temple and Swaminarayan Akshardham Temple.

The Heritage of Delhi route includes Birla Temple, Jhandewalan Mata Mandir, Jantar Mantar, Yogmaya Mandir and Jagannath Temple. The third circuit, Delhi’s Sacred Harmony, covers Praacheen Hanuman Mandir, Digambar Jain Lal Mandir, Ambedkar Memorial, Purana Qila and Hazrat Nizamuddin.

The fourth and longest route, Echoes of Delhi, includes Gurudwara Rakab Ganj Sahib, Buddhist Temple, Church of the Redemption, Mehrauli Archaeological Park, Chhatarpur Mandir and Linga Bhairavi Sannidhanam. As part of the promotional initiative, Delhi Tourism recently organised a familiarisation tour for media representatives and social media influencers.

Participants visited selected destinations and were briefed on their historical, religious, cultural and architectural significance. The department plans to promote the circuits through news coverage and digital platforms, including photographs, videos and short-form social media content.

Officials said the route-based approach would provide visitors with a structured way to explore multiple attractions that are often visited separately. The initiative is also aimed at encouraging tourists to spend more time in Delhi and discover destinations across different parts of the city.

Delhi Tourism intends to promote the circuits among both domestic and international visitors, adding spiritual and heritage-focused experiences to the capital’s existing tourism portfolio. The initiative seeks to showcase Delhi not only through its well-known monuments but also through its religious diversity, architectural traditions and lesser-explored historical sites.
