NEW DELHI, Aug 15: The 80th Independence Day was celebrated with patriotic fervour at the headquarters of Akashvani in New Delhi on Saturday, with Director General of Akashvani Rajiv Kumar Jain hoisting the national flag and extending greetings and best wishes to employees and citizens on the occasion.
The celebrations at the Akashvani headquarters marked the historic significance of the day and paid tribute to the freedom fighters and martyrs whose courage, sacrifice and dedication paved the way for India’s independence.
Addressing those present, Jain said Independence Day was an occasion to remember the countless men and women who made the supreme sacrifice for the freedom of the country.
He emphasised that the values and aspirations that inspired the freedom struggle continue to remain relevant as India works towards a stronger and more prosperous future.
