Ranchi/Mumbai, Aug. 4: Bollywood actor Sonakshi Sinha has expressed concern over the ongoing protests by job aspirants in Jharkhand against alleged irregularities in the 14th Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) Combined Civil Services Examination and the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination, lending her voice to the growing public attention surrounding the agitation.
Sharing a video of the protest at Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium in Ranchi on her Instagram Stories, the actor expressed solidarity with the students and questioned the recurrence of such controversies.
“It’s so disheartening to see students of our country go through this. When will it stop?” Sonakshi wrote.
Her remarks come as the student agitation continues in the state, with student leader Devendra Nath Mahato remaining on an indefinite hunger strike since Sunday. The protesters are demanding cancellation of the Preliminary Test (PT) of the 14th JPSC Combined Civil Services Examination and a review of examinations conducted through TDPL agencies, alleging irregularities in the recruitment process.
Responding to the ongoing protests, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Tuesday said the state government was treating the matter with seriousness and remained sensitive to the concerns of students.
“The government has eyes and ears and is sensitive to students’ concerns,” Soren said, adding that the government was awaiting the outcome of the ongoing investigation before taking further action.
He assured that the findings of the inquiry would be made public and that justice would be ensured for the aggrieved candidates.
“The government will address the students’ grievances, and justice will be delivered after the investigation reaches its conclusion,” the Chief Minister said. “The findings of the investigation will be communicated to the students and the people of the state.”
The protests over the alleged examination irregularities have continued in Ranchi, with students demanding greater transparency and accountability in the recruitment process. The allegations are currently under investigation, and no final findings have been announced by the authorities.
