Ranchi, July 20: The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Jharkhand on Monday held a meeting with representatives of all recognised political parties to review the progress of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the state’s electoral rolls and discuss the next steps in the enumeration process.
Chairing the meeting, Chief Electoral Officer K. Ravi Kumar said the third and final meeting of Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and Booth Level Agents (BLA-2) will be held on July 22 at polling stations across the state as part of the Enumeration Phase.
The meeting will include an election awareness session aimed at strengthening coordination between election officials and political party representatives.
The CEO urged all recognised political parties to ensure the presence of their BLA-2 representatives and encourage voters to participate so that any errors or omissions in the electoral roll can be identified and corrected in time.
Officials said BLOs and BLA-2 representatives will jointly verify records of voters marked as absent, shifted, deceased or duplicated.
The verified list will form the basis of the draft electoral roll scheduled for publication on August 5.
The meeting also reviewed the progress of the ongoing enumeration exercise.
The CEO appealed to voters and political parties to ensure that duly filled and signed enumeration forms are submitted to the respective BLOs within the prescribed timeline to facilitate complete digitisation of the forms and timely completion of the revision process.
He said the exercise would also help rationalise polling stations so that members of the same household are, as far as possible, included in the electoral roll of the same polling station.
The CEO advised voters who have not received an enumeration form or whose forms have been lost or damaged to immediately contact their BLO.
The BLOs, in coordination with the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) or Assistant Electoral Registration Officer (AERO), will provide replacement forms.
He added that PDF copies of enumeration forms for all voters in the existing electoral roll are available with the ERO and AERO offices.
K. Ravi Kumar called upon all recognised political parties to extend full cooperation in the revision exercise, saying collective participation would help ensure an accurate, transparent and error-free electoral roll across Jharkhand.
