Ranchi, July 8: The Jharkhand government on Tuesday launched a two-day National Stakeholders Consultation in New Delhi to shape the state’s Vision 2050 roadmap, with discussions centred on information technology, artificial intelligence (AI), digital governance and emerging technologies.
Inaugurating the consultation, Chief Minister Hemant Soren said Jharkhand must evolve beyond its identity as a mineral-rich state and emerge as a knowledge-driven economy powered by innovation, research and technology.
He emphasised that integrating the state’s traditional knowledge with modern technological advancements would be crucial for achieving sustainable and inclusive development.
The consultation brought together policymakers, industry leaders, technology experts, academicians and representatives of leading global technology companies, including Microsoft, Google and IBM.
Participants discussed measures to strengthen Jharkhand’s digital ecosystem, attract technology investments, enhance digital governance and prepare the state for future industries.
As part of the consultation, the state government presented concept papers on several proposed policy initiatives, including the Jharkhand AI Policy, Investment Promotion Policy, Tourism Policy, Textile Policy, JIADA Regulations and the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Policy.
Stakeholders were invited to provide suggestions to make the proposed policies more investor-friendly and aligned with future economic and technological requirements.
A Business-to-Government (B2G) interaction was also organised to facilitate discussions on investment opportunities and potential partnerships in the fields of information technology, artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure and emerging technologies.
The Chief Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to creating an enabling policy environment that encourages investment, generates employment and promotes inclusive economic growth.
He said stakeholder consultations would play an important role in finalising the state’s long-term development strategy under Vision 2050.
The event was attended by senior members of the Jharkhand Cabinet, top government officials, industry representatives and academicians.
Presentations on technology opportunities for Jharkhand were delivered by experts from IBM, Microsoft and Google, while senior officials from the state’s Information Technology and Industries departments also participated in the consultation.
