Ranchi, July 7: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Tuesday accepted an invitation from the Jagannathpur Temple Trust Committee to attend the inaugural function of the annual Rath Yatra festival, scheduled to begin on July 16.
A delegation of the Jagannathpur Temple Trust Committee called on the chief minister at his official residence in Ranchi and extended a formal invitation to participate in the festival.
During the meeting, members of the delegation briefed Soren on the preparations for the Rath Yatra and apprised him of the sentiments and expectations of devotees and local residents associated with the festival.
The delegation requested the chief minister to grace the inaugural ceremony and enhance the significance of the event with his presence.
Soren accepted the invitation and conveyed his best wishes for the successful conduct of the festival, according to an official statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Secretariat.
The delegation comprised Jagannathpur Temple Trust Committee president N.N. Pandey, first sevayat Thakur Sudhanshu Nath Shahdeo, secretary Prasanna Kumar, members Gopal Upadhyay, Neetu Devi and Kamal Thakur, and associate Amardeep Kaushal.
