New Delhi, Jan 6: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has commenced the registration process for the Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET UG) 2026. Candidates seeking admission to undergraduate programmes in Central, State and other participating universities for the 2026 academic session can apply online through the official website, cuet.nta.nic.in.
According to the NTA, the CUET UG 2026 examination will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode between May 11 and May 31, 2026. The last date to submit the CUET UG 2026 application form is January 30, 2026, while the final date for successful payment of the application fee is January 31, 2026.
CUET UG 2026: Guidelines Issued by NTA
The NTA has introduced a few new requirements for the 2026 examination cycle:
- Mandatory live photograph: Candidates must capture a live photograph during the application process using a webcam or mobile phone camera.
- Enhanced verification protocols: Clearer guidelines have been issued for UDID and disability certificate verification. Applicants have also been advised to update their Aadhaar details before applying.
- Reduced subject choices: The maximum number of subjects a candidate can opt for has been reduced to five, from six earlier.
- No change in exam structure: There is no change in the syllabus, exam pattern or marking scheme for CUET UG 2026.
Examination Details
The CUET UG 2026 exam will be conducted in 13 languages across India and abroad. Each test paper will have a duration of 60 minutes. The examination will be held in multiple shifts, depending on the number of candidates and subject combinations.
There is no age limit for appearing in CUET UG 2026. Candidates who have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination, or those appearing in 2026, are eligible to apply.
