New Delhi, Jan 6: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued detailed application guidelines and an advisory for candidates planning to appear for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2026, stressing the need for accurate and updated personal and eligibility documents during registration.
In its advisory, the NTA has asked candidates to carefully verify the details on their Aadhaar card and ensure that it is valid and fully updated. The Aadhaar must reflect the correct name, date of birth, gender, photograph, address and biometric details, wherever applicable, as these will be used for identity verification during the application and examination process.
The agency has also clarified that candidates who are eligible must possess a valid, renewed and updated Unique Disability ID (UDID) card at the time of registration. In addition, candidates applying under reserved categories have been instructed to ensure that their category certificates are valid and updated, as outdated or invalid documents may lead to rejection of the application.
Based on trends from previous years, the NEET UG 2026 examination is expected to be conducted in May. The exam was held on May 4 in 2025, May 5 in 2024 and May 7 in 2023.
