Mumbai, Mar 25: Bollywood actor and humanitarian Sonu Sood’s wife, Sonali Sood, met with an accident on the Mumbai-Nagpur highway on Monday, sources close to the actor said.

Sonali Sood was traveling with her sister and her sister’s son when their car collided with a truck. Sonali is currently in Nagpur, and Sonu Sood reached the city on Tuesday morning.

“She’s doing fine now. Had a miraculous escape. Om Sai Ram,” Sonu Sood told India Today.

Both Sonali and her nephew are under observation at Nagpur’s MAX Hospital, while Sonali’s sister sustained minor injuries and is out of danger, the sources added.

Three years ago, Sonu Sood saved the life of a 19-year-old boy involved in a severe road accident in Moga, Punjab. The boy was trapped inside a car with a central lock, making the rescue difficult. Sood intervened, helped retrieve him, and rushed him to a hospital, where he recovered.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Sood played a key role in relief efforts, helping stranded migrant workers return home and arranging medical aid for those in need.

On the professional front, Sood made his directorial debut with Fateh, a film set against the backdrop of cybercrime. He plays an ex-special ops officer with a dark past and a mission to dismantle a digital terror network.

“The city of joy, Kolkata, has always been incredibly warm to me, and its warmth has only grown since my wife is also from here. I shot a film at Howrah Bridge, and today, returning to the same spot in Kolkata to promote my movie was truly nostalgic and special,” Sood said while promoting Fateh.

“Fateh is a film that’s very close to my heart, and the chance to share it with this wonderful city feels like a full-circle moment. The essence of Kolkata felt incredibly special, and I hope the city extends the same love and support to Fateh as it has given me and my previous works,” he added.
