Jamshedpur, November 26: XLRI – Xavier School of Management, one of India’s oldest business schools, has announced the launch of international specialization tracks for its flagship PGDM (Business Management) programme in partnership with leading universities in the United States and France.
The new tracks, beginning with the 2026–28 cohort, aim to meet rising global demand for managers equipped with interdisciplinary expertise across emerging, tech-driven sectors. The initiative integrates XLRI’s first-year core curriculum with advanced second-year coursework delivered by partner universities, enabling students to earn both XLRI’s PGDM (BM) degree and an MS/MBA from the host institution through a credit-transfer system.
XLRI will collaborate with four global institutions to offer nine specialization tracks:
– George Washington Business School (USA): International Business, Sports Management, Business Analytics, Project Management
– Martin J. Whitman School of Management, Syracuse University (USA): Marketing (STEM)
– Rutgers Business School, Rutgers University (USA): Healthcare Analytics & Intelligence
– IAE Paris Sorbonne Business School, Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University (France): Healthcare Management
Each track includes more than 400 hours of domain-specific instruction, significantly deeper than conventional MBA specialisations, XLRI said.
Most U.S.-based tracks carry STEM designation, allowing students to apply for Optional Practical Training (OPT) extensions under U.S. regulations. Students opting for the French programme will be eligible for a 12-month renewable residence and work permit under Indo-French mobility agreements.
Participants will have full access to academic and career development resources at XLRI and the partner universities, including career fairs and industry engagement opportunities. Scholarship options and credit-transfer arrangements are expected to reduce overall programme costs while offering two internationally recognised degrees.
Admission to the international tracks will follow XLRI’s standard PGDM (BM) selection process. Applicants must have completed four years of full-time study after higher secondary school, and may indicate their interest through the XAT application portal.
