RANCHI, Aug 15: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Saturday hoisted the national flag at Morabadi Ground here on the occasion of the 80th Independence Day and inspected the ceremonial parade, with youth employment and transparency in competitive examinations featuring prominently in his address.
Soren said his government would ensure that recruitment processes conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) are completed in a time-bound manner.
He also announced plans to introduce an annual examination calendar to provide greater clarity and predictability to job aspirants.
The chief minister said the government would implement a transparent, phased examination system, with answer keys and OMR sheets made available on time. He also stressed the need for multi-level accountability in the examination process.
The issue of examination integrity also featured in Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar’s Independence Day message from Dumka. Gangwar said paper leaks, malpractice and other irregularities in examinations could not be accepted and called for a comprehensive review of the examination system.
He emphasised the need for effective measures to prevent unfair practices and restore confidence among students and job aspirants.
Meanwhile, students protesting over examination-related issues in Ranchi organised a Tiranga Yatra from Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium on Independence Day. Before the march, the students prepared jalebi at the stadium and shared sweets among themselves.
The Independence Day celebrations at Morabadi Ground included the flag-hoisting ceremony, ceremonial salute and parade inspection by the chief minister.
