Ranchi, June 7: President Droupadi Murmu’s two-day scheduled visit to Deoghar in Jharkhand on June 10 and 11 has been postponed for now putting the AIIMS convocation on hold.
Reports state that Rashtrapati Bhavan gave this information to the Deoghar district administration and state officials late on Friday evening. Due to the postponement of the visit, she will not come to Deoghar on June 10.
Significantly, President Murmu was going to attend the convocation ceremony organized at AIIMS, Deoghar on June 11. Before this, she also had a program to worship at Baba Dham temple. Now the date of the convocation will be decided only after the next schedule is released.
Late Friday evening, the information regarding change in schedule was conveyed by Rashtrapati Bhavan to district administration and state offices, stating that President Murmu will not reach Deoghar on June 10.
AIIMS Director Dr Saurabh Varshney said that after the postponement of the President’s programme, the convocation ceremony has also been put on hold for the time being. The date of the convocation will be decided only after the next schedule is released, he added.
