Deoghar, September 11: Jasidih Community Health Centre in Deoghar district has emerged as Jharkhand’s first community health centre to implement all prescribed digital healthcare processes under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), according to hospital authorities.
The health facility has integrated the various modules of the C-DAC Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) into its routine operations.
The digital system covers services such as patient registration, outpatient care, laboratory facilities, pharmacy operations, electronic prescriptions and maintenance of patient records.Hospital officials said the system enables digital tracking of a patient’s journey from registration and consultation to treatment and completion of hospital services.
The move is aimed at improving record management and making healthcare delivery more efficient.Jasidih CHC in-charge Dr Vishwanath Chaudhary said the centre was not only equipped with the digital platform but was also using its different modules and prescribed procedures in regular hospital operations.
The hospital administration said healthcare workers were given specialised training to operate the digital system. Technical issues encountered during implementation were addressed with assistance from state-level experts.The facility has also reported full adoption of the Scan and Share service for digital patient registration.
Hospital data cited in the report puts the use of the facility at about 83 per cent at Deoghar Sadar Hospital and around 35 per cent at Madhupur Sub-Divisional Hospital.The digital system is also helping doctors access patients’ previous health information through the ABHA-linked digital health ecosystem, where records are available.
This can be particularly useful for patients from rural areas, as they may not need to depend entirely on physical prescriptions and older medical documents.
Doctors and patients at the centre said digital processes have made registration and record management more convenient, particularly at a facility that handles a considerable number of patients.
Hospital authorities said the digital transformation was carried out in phases, with staff studying and implementing different C-DAC HMIS modules before integrating them into routine services.
The administration hopes the experience of Jasidih CHC can serve as a model for other community health centres in Jharkhand seeking to expand the use of digital technology in healthcare.
