Jamshedpur, Sept 26: The Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FJCCI) has urged the police administration to strengthen security measures in Jamshedpur following a series of recent criminal incidents.
The chamber said the recent robbery at a Canara Bank and a subsequent firing incident near Bindal Mall have raised concerns among traders, entrepreneurs and residents.FJCCI president Tulsi Patel said Jamshedpur, being an important industrial and commercial centre, requires a secure environment where businesses and daily activities can continue without fear.
She called for prompt identification and arrest of those involved in the recent incidents and sought detailed investigations into the cases.
The chamber also urged the police to increase patrolling in sensitive and crowded commercial areas, particularly in view of the approaching festive season.A meeting was held at the chamber premises to discuss concerns related to the city’s law-and-order situation.
Business representatives called for regular reviews of security arrangements around banks, markets, commercial establishments and other important business locations.The chamber further suggested greater coordination between the district police administration and business organisations to identify vulnerable areas and improve security arrangements.
FJCCI vice-presidents Vikas Vijayvargiya and Rohit Poddar, general secretary Rohit Agrawal, joint secretary Amit Sharma and members Alok Singh, Amit Modi and Santosh Agrawal, among others, attended the meeting.
