Ranchi, September 9: The state government’s ambitious plan to ease traffic congestion in the capital is set to move forward with the construction of three new flyovers. Chief Minister Hemant Soren held a detailed meeting with senior officials of the Road Construction Department at his residential office on Kanke Road, where he reviewed presentations related to the proposed three projects on Monday.

Aa per the plan, flyovers will be built from Sahajanand Chowk in Harmu to the ACB office, from Argora Chowk to Kathal Mor, and from Karam Toli Chowk to Science City. The Chief Minister directed officials to prepare Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for the Argora–Kathal Mor and Karam Toli–Science City flyovers and finalize a concrete action plan.

CM Hemant Soren reviewing the meeting

During the meeting, Hemant Soren emphasized that the Harmu flyover would play a crucial role in reducing frequent traffic jams on the Harmu bypass road. He instructed officials to ensure that the proposed flyover is linked with the existing Ratu Road flyover, providing commuters with smoother connectivity. Officials informed the CM that the tender process for the Sahajanand–ACB flyover has already been completed, and work will start soon.

The Chief Minister also gave specific directions for the design of other projects. At Argora Chowk, he proposed building a roundabout above the flyover so that multiple roads could be connected, ensuring greater convenience for daily commuters. He also reviewed the presentation of the elevated 4-lane flyover from Karam Toli Chowk to Science City and discussed related road construction plans, including the stretch from Doctors Colony to Hill View Bariatu Road.

Soren made it clear that these projects are a priority for the state government, and designs must take into account the future needs of Ranchi’s growing traffic. He urged the Road Construction Department to work with full readiness and commitment so that the projects can be given a concrete shape at the earliest.

The meeting was attended by top officials like Principal Secretary of Road Construction Department Sunil Kumar, Chief Engineers Praveen Bhengra and Vijay Ranjan and others.
