GAZA/TEL AVIV, March 20 – Hamas said it launched rockets at Tel Aviv on Thursday in response to rising civilian casualties from Israel’s renewed air and ground operations in Gaza.
The Israeli military confirmed the attack, saying its air defenses intercepted several projectiles while others fell in open areas. There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage in Tel Aviv.
Israel resumed large-scale military operations in Gaza on Wednesday, closing off the main north-south route and expanding its ground offensive. The move follows weeks of stalled ceasefire talks and growing international concern over the humanitarian crisis in the enclave. The conflict, now in its sixth month, has left tens of thousands dead, with civilians bearing the brunt of the violence.
