Ranchi, Nov 7: The Federation of Jharkhand Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FJCCI) has expressed satisfaction over the strong customer response in local markets on Dhanteras, saying the encouraging business activity has boosted traders’ confidence ahead of Diwali.
The chamber said markets witnessed enthusiastic shopping across several sectors, including gold, silver, automobiles, electronics and other consumer goods, creating an atmosphere of optimism and satisfaction among business communities.
FJCCI President Tulsi Patel said the strong customer turnout on Dhanteras had generated positive sentiment in the business sector. She also appreciated the district administration and traffic police for managing festival crowds and ensuring smoother movement in busy market areas.
Patel said traffic congestion was common during festive shopping, but the deployment of police personnel at crowded locations and effective traffic management helped people reach markets and shop with greater convenience. She thanked the district administration and traffic police for their efforts.
With Diwali shopping gaining momentum, Patel appealed to people across Jharkhand to prioritise local shops while purchasing decorative items, earthen lamps, pots, lighting, puja materials, sweets, clothes, gifts and other festive essentials.
She said supporting local products, traders and artisans would strengthen small and medium-sized businesses, generate employment opportunities and boost the state’s economy. Promoting local businesses, she added, would also contribute to the goal of self-reliance.
Chamber General Secretary Rohit Agarwal said the vibrant markets and enthusiastic customer response on Dhanteras had reinforced public confidence in local businesses.
He urged people to embrace the spirit of ‘Vocal for Local’ during Diwali by purchasing from neighbourhood shopkeepers, small businesses and local artisans. Such support, he said, would not only add to the festive spirit but also provide fresh momentum to Jharkhand’s economy.
