Ranchi, Oct 29: Central Mine Planning & Design Institute Limited (CMPDIL) has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Nidhi Samriddhi Foundation to promote climate-resilient agriculture through technology-driven farming practices in Jharkhand, covering around 100 farmers in Ramgarh district.

The agreement was signed on Thursday at CMPDI headquarters in Ranchi under the organisation’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme for the financial years 2026–27 and 2027–28.

The initiative, titled Unnat Krishi Project – Integrating ICT & IoT-enabled Precision Farming to Promote Climate-Resilient Agriculture, will be implemented in Bicha Panchayat of Patratu block in Ramgarh district. It will cover farmers from Bicha, Lem, Sutharpur and Salgo villages.

The project aims to integrate Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Internet of Things (IoT)-enabled precision farming and technology-based agricultural advisory services to help farmers make informed decisions, optimise resource use and adopt sustainable farming practices.

Key interventions will include soil testing, weather monitoring, technology-enabled irrigation, drone-based agricultural services and digital advisory support. The project will also provide farmer training and exposure visits, strengthen farmer collectives and prepare them for activities based on Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs).

These interventions are intended to improve farmers’ technical capabilities, encourage the adoption of modern agricultural practices and strengthen their resilience to climate-related challenges.

CMPDI said the initiative reflects its commitment to inclusive rural development through CSR activities. By combining precision farming technologies with capacity building and community participation, the project aims to advance climate-smart agriculture in rural Jharkhand while contributing to the broader vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 and the Agriculture 4.0 framework.
