Ranchi, Oct 1: Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar on Thursday called for greater promotion of locally produced goods from the state through improved quality, modern technology, product design and effective branding.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony of Expo Utsav 2026 at Morabadi Maidan in Ranchi, the Governor said Jharkhand’s local products have considerable potential to gain wider markets in India and abroad.
He specifically referred to the identity of Tasar silk and stressed the need to explore and promote the potential of other products manufactured and produced in the state.
Gangwar said entrepreneurship plays an important role in promoting self-reliance, generating employment and supporting economic growth. He noted that young people in Jharkhand have talent and innovative ideas and should be provided with appropriate guidance, opportunities and technical support to develop new enterprises.
The Governor also highlighted the growing role of digital technology, e-commerce and social media in business. He said these platforms have enabled even small enterprises to reach customers across wider markets.
At the same time, he stressed that businesses must focus on product quality, reliability and customer service to build and maintain consumer trust.
Calling upon young people to transform their ideas into practical ventures, Gangwar encouraged them to learn new technologies and develop solutions to real-world problems. He also emphasised the importance of honesty and social responsibility in entrepreneurship.
The Governor said entrepreneurs should contribute to areas such as education and social development alongside their business activities.
He described Expo Utsav as an important platform for bringing products, services and entrepreneurs together and congratulated JCI Ranchi for organising the event.Gangwar said youth, entrepreneurship, innovation and self-reliance would play an important role in achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047.
He expressed hope that the expo would help provide direction to new ideas and contribute to giving Jharkhand’s products greater visibility and recognition.
