Ranchi, Sept 28: Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) organised a self-composed poetry recitation competition at its Human Resource Development Department in Ranchi on Sunday as part of Rajbhasha Month 2026.
Officials and employees from the CCL headquarters and various operational areas participated in the competition and presented poems based on a range of themes, emotions and personal experiences.
The participants were evaluated by noted Ranchi-based poet and senior litterateur Kumar Brijendra and Dr Renu Sinha, Head of Department at Nirmala College, Ranchi.Brijendra, who has participated in poetry forums across the country, has also been associated with All India Radio and Doordarshan.
His experience in literature, along with Sinha’s academic and literary expertise, contributed to the evaluation of the performances, CCL said.Ujjwal Pathak, Assistant Manager (Mining) from Dhori Area, secured the first position in the competition.
General Manager (Environment) Sangeeta finished second, while R P Yadav, Manager (Human Resources) from BNK Area, secured the third position.Sushmita Sahay, Senior Manager (Human Resources), stood fourth, while Pooja Prasad, Deputy Manager in the CSR Department, secured the fifth position.
CCL officials welcomed the two judges during the programme. The event was conducted by Pooja Singh and Ramadhar Pandey of the Rajbhasha Department, while Dr Divik Divesh delivered the vote of thanks.
Several activities, including note drafting, quiz, Hindi essay and Hindi typing competitions, have already been organised under Rajbhasha Month 2026.
Employees and officers from the headquarters and different areas have participated in these programmes.The next activity planned under the month-long programme is the ‘Rajbhashotthan’ competition, which will be organised for personnel working in the Rajbhasha cadre.
CCL said the activities are aimed at encouraging the use of Hindi while providing employees with opportunities to showcase their literary skills, professional knowledge and creativity.
