Ranchi, Sep 26: Central Coalfields Limited’s (CCL) CSR initiative “Nanha Sa Dil” has completed 300 successful surgeries for children suffering from congenital heart disease, with the company setting a target of treating 500 children under the programme by February 2027.
Under the initiative, children suffering from congenital heart disease are screened across various districts of Jharkhand and provided primary treatment before being referred to super-speciality hospitals for completely free treatment. CCL also takes responsibility for their post-operative care.
The initiative has brought relief to families who said they had almost lost hope of their children’s survival. Parents of beneficiaries expressed gratitude to CCL, saying the programme had given their children a new lease of life and their families renewed hope and happiness.
“Today is not just a day marking the completion of 300 surgeries for us; it is a day when new hope has been added to the heartbeats of 300 little children,” CCL CMD Nilendu Kumar Singh said.
“The smiles of these children and the happiness visible in the eyes of their parents are our greatest achievement,” he added.
Singh said that when a child gets an opportunity to lead a healthy life, the dreams of the entire family also receive a new lease of life. He added that CCL considers itself fortunate to be associated with and operate the initiative.
During an event at the CCL headquarters, five beneficiary children aged between one and 11 years and their parents were honoured with “Gift of Life Certificates” in recognition of their successful treatment and new beginning towards a healthy life.
Singh, along with senior CCL directors, interacted with the beneficiary children and their families and wished them a healthy and bright future.
The parents said the initiative had provided their children with a new path towards a healthy life and expressed their gratitude to CCL for the support.
“There was a time when we had almost lost hope of our children surviving, but CCL’s ‘Nanha Sa Dil’ initiative not only gave our children a new lease of life but also gave our families an opportunity to move forward with renewed hope and happiness,” a parent said.
CCL said the initiative is part of its broader CSR commitment to supporting people in need through programmes in healthcare, education, nutrition and community development.
