Ranchi, Sept 22: Jharkhand is likely to experience widespread rainfall over the next few days as an active weather system continues to influence eastern India, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting heavy rain at several places and very heavy rainfall at isolated locations.
The rainfall activity is expected to continue till September 26, even as the southwest monsoon begins its withdrawal from parts of the country.According to the weather outlook, heavy rainfall is likely at some places on September 22 and 23, while isolated areas could receive very heavy rain on September 24. Rainfall activity is expected to remain significant through September 25 and 26.
The weather conditions are associated with a low-pressure area and an accompanying circulation over eastern and adjoining parts of the country.
The system is supporting the movement of moisture into the region and may lead to increased rainfall activity across Jharkhand.The IMD has also warned of thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds in parts of the state during the period.
Rainfall intensity is likely to differ from district to district, with the possibility of intense showers in isolated locations. Authorities and residents in vulnerable areas have been advised to remain alert, particularly in low-lying locations and areas prone to waterlogging.
Continuous rainfall may also affect road conditions and local drainage systems, while heavy showers could temporarily disrupt movement in some areas.People have been advised to follow updated weather bulletins and local administration advisories, particularly during periods of thunderstorms and lightning.
The coming days are expected to remain important from a weather-monitoring perspective as authorities assess the impact of the rainfall and prepare for possible localised disruption.
