Ranchi, Sept 11: The Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries will hold its 62nd Annual General Meeting at the Chamber Bhawan here on Saturday, with the election process scheduled to follow on Sunday.
The annual meeting will begin at 11 am, while voting for the chamber elections will take place at Marwari Bhawan on Sunday.
Chamber president Aditya Malhotra said the organisation has worked over the decades to strengthen its role as a state-level representative body for the business and industrial community. He said successive office-bearers have undertaken various initiatives in response to the changing economic and social environment.
Chamber secretary-general Rohit Agrawal said the organisation has been working not only to promote trade and industry but also to raise issues concerning the general public and seek solutions to them.
The chamber election this year is witnessing a contest involving three teams, while two independent candidates are also in the fray.
The election is expected to draw attention from the chamber’s members as the new leadership prepares to take forward its agenda concerning trade, industry and wider public issues in Jharkhand.
