Ranchi, September 10: The Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FJCCI) will hold its election for the 2026-27 session on September 13 at Marwari Bhawan on Harmu Road here, election officials said on Thursday.
The polling will be conducted from 9 am to 5 pm, with the election committee reviewing arrangements at the venue ahead of the voting process.Election Committee Chairman Anchal Kinger said steps have been taken to make voting convenient and transparent for members.
Voters will receive their serial numbers and designated counter details through SMS before polling day.A computer-based voting system will be used at the venue, where 40 computers have been arranged for the process. The voting software will require each voter to choose exactly 21 candidates before the vote can be submitted.Photographs of candidates will also appear alongside their names on the computer screens to help voters identify their preferred candidates.
Election Committee Co-Chairman Pawan Sharma said supervisors would be deployed near the voter-verification counters to oversee the process.The committee has prohibited the use of mobile phones for conversations and photography inside the voting area.
Any violation could lead to the ballot being declared invalid, officials said.Candidates will also not be permitted to distribute gifts, water bottles or other materials at the polling venue. Complaints related to the election can be submitted in writing to the election officials.
The election committee said public statements against the Chamber or organisations associated with it would be treated as a violation of the election code and could invite disciplinary action.Candidates will be allowed to campaign until midnight on September 11.
Campaigning through all modes will stop thereafter.The committee has also appealed to members to preferably use two-wheelers or public transport to reach the polling venue to avoid traffic congestion.
Members have been urged to participate in large numbers, while candidates have been asked to follow the election code strictly and cooperate in maintaining a peaceful voting process.
