FJCCI tightens election rules ahead of 2026-27 polls

Ranchi, Aug 24: The Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FJCCI) has stepped up preparations for its 2026-27 elections, with the election committee introducing measures aimed at ensuring a fair and transparent electoral process.

The Election Committee held a meeting at the Chamber Bhawan on Monday to review arrangements and assign responsibilities related to the polls.

Following the committee’s directions, all official FJCCI WhatsApp groups were placed under admin-only control from Monday evening. The groups will now be used exclusively for issuing election-related information and updates, according to a press release.

Chief Election Officer Anchal Kinger said no candidate would be permitted to hold an election meeting at the Chamber Bhawan during the election period.He added that any activity related to trade and industry would require prior approval from the Election Committee during the election period.”The committee is taking all necessary measures to ensure that the election is conducted in a fair and transparent manner,” Kinger said.

Election Committee Co-Chairman Pawan Sharma said members granted lifetime membership at the Executive Committee meeting held on August 12 would be eligible to vote in the upcoming election.He said changes to the names of representatives would not be permitted in accordance with the Chamber’s constitutional provisions.

However, changes in the names of office-bearers of affiliated organisations can be made before the election, Sharma said.For other categories of members, changes to the registered representative’s name will not be permitted at this stage, he added.

The Election Committee appealed to all members to maintain the dignity of the electoral process and comply with the instructions issued by the committee.
