Latehar, August 15: At least seven people were killed after a container truck overturned and fell on an auto-rickshaw in Latehar district of Jharkhand on Saturday, according to preliminary information.
The accident occurred at Dedhtangwa Valley on the Lohardaga-Chandwa main road under the Chandwa police station area.According to initial reports, the container truck apparently lost balance and overturned while travelling along the road. The heavy vehicle then fell onto an auto-rickshaw, crushing the smaller vehicle and its occupants.Seven people were reported to have died in the accident.
The identities of the deceased were not immediately available.Police and local authorities reached the spot and began rescue operations. Further details regarding the number of injured, the condition of other passengers and the precise circumstances leading to the accident are awaited.
