IRGC warns of attacks on US firms in Gulf after Iran leader killings

Dubai/Tehran, Mar 31: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on Tuesday warned that it would target major American companies operating across West Asia and the Gulf in retaliation for any further killings of senior Iranian leaders, sharply escalating tensions in the region.

In a strongly worded statement, the IRGC said attacks could begin from 8 pm Tehran time on April 1, and named 18 major US firms as potential targets, including Microsoft, Google, Apple, Intel, IBM, Tesla, Boeing, Dell Technologies, HP, Cisco, Oracle, Meta, JPMorgan Chase, General Electric and Nvidia.

The IRGC warned that these companies should “expect destruction of their facilities” in response to what it described as “terror acts” inside Iran, and advised employees to immediately vacate their workplaces. Residents living near these offices were also reportedly asked to move to safer locations.

Iran’s elite force alleged that American technology and artificial intelligence firms were directly involved in surveillance and operational planning linked to attacks on Iranian officials, claiming that their AI and communication systems had been used in identifying assassination targets.

The warning came shortly after reports emerged of the killing of Brigadier General Jamshid Eshaghi, head of budget and financial affairs at Iran’s armed forces general staff, in an alleged US-Israeli strike that also killed members of his family.

Eshaghi had been sanctioned by the United States last year over allegations of helping route oil shipments to China and financing Iran-backed regional groups, including Hezbollah, Hamas and the Houthis, according to reports.

The latest threat underscores the rapidly intensifying Iran-US-Israel confrontation, with several senior Iranian officials reported killed in recent weeks, raising fears of a wider conflict spilling across the Gulf region.
